Kenmore Pro Freezer at 44°F While Refrigerator Holds 36°F
A Kenmore Pro held 36°F in fresh food but 44°F in the freezer. The fan ran, yet no final restriction or failed part was …
What changes the diagnostic path
Useful comparisons include whether one compartment is warm or both are warm, whether fans and compressors run, whether frost or water is present, and whether the failure began after service. Exact model and error-code context matter on premium built-in equipment.
The same symptom can have a different cause. A field case should narrow the next safe observation, not justify replacing the same component blindly.
Record before requesting service
- Full model and serial number.
- Fresh-food and freezer temperatures, measured rather than estimated.
- Exact display code and when it appears.
- Recent power interruption, cleaning, installation or repair.
- Any sound, frost, leak or odor that changes over time.
Stop and disconnect power after smoke, arcing, a hot electrical smell or energized metal. Sealed-system and live-voltage testing require qualified equipment and training.
A replacement that did not solve the fault
A repair that did not follow the obvious path

A Maytag MVW7230HW0 kept operating while Quick Wash remained at 17 minutes. The case separates a stalled countdown from a simple no-spin fault.
Maytag F1E2 After Drain Worked and Programs Stopped
A Maytag drained correctly, then programs stopped after pause and F1E2 appeared. The case separates standing-water door lock from motor control.
