The Timer Stopped at 11 Minutes While the Washer Kept Trying to Spin

The complaint had occurred intermittently and then became repeatable. A Hall sensor was the first guess, but the machine still needed a simple branch test: could it reach high spin with no laundry?

Why the empty-spin test changes the diagnosis

If the washer accelerates smoothly to high spin while empty, its motor and feedback path can perform the basic task. The next questions become load distribution, an item that remains bunched, control decisions, bearing drag or basket/spider movement under weight.

A similar symptom can have a different cause on another washer. A machine that cannot spin empty stays in the motor, supply, control and mechanical-drag branches.

Why the Hall sensor was not a complete explanation

The source identified an integrated inverter/relay-board arrangement rather than a separate inverter module. It also preserved a technician's experience that Samsung Hall sensors were not the common answer to this pattern. That experience is useful for test order, but cannot rule a sensor out without the empty-spin result and model-specific diagnostics.

Four branches after the symptom is reproduced

What the washer is waiting for

Load distribution

A blanket or single heavy item may never distribute well enough for high spin.

Control decision

The integrated board may keep retrying if drive behavior does not match its expected ramp.

Bearing or spider movement

A damaged basket support can change geometry under load without always producing a dramatic empty noise.

Motor feedback

This remains relevant if the machine cannot complete a controlled empty spin.

What the source did not finish

The technician planned an on-site empty-spin and mechanical check, but no result or repair was captured. The page therefore supplies the branching test and does not name a board, sensor or spider as the failed part.

Moving-mechanism and electrical safety: do not run a washer with panels removed or reach toward the basket or motor. Stop use for severe banging, burning odor, sparking or breaker trips. Internal diagnosis requires qualified service.
