New Latches Did Not Stop the Door-Open Beep
Two matching GE dishwashers behaved the same way. Comparable cases traced the symptom to latch alignment after the cabinet top had shifted.

The test that separates alignment from an open switch
A technician described removing the latch from its installed position while leaving it connected, then placing it against the closed door. When the contacts closed in that position, the electrical path worked and the installed geometry became the lead.
Several comparable machines were corrected by slightly lowering or reshaping the top of the dishwasher cabinet and maintaining clearance below the countertop. The discussion also recorded one of the original pair operating after lower-board replacement, so the outcomes were not identical.

- Confirm whether the latch contacts close when the latch is correctly pressed.
- Compare its installed height with the door strike.
- Inspect cabinet-top deformation and countertop pressure.
