One Mode Worked After Reset, Then Every Selection Was Rejected
A new control board did not change the pattern. The discussion then separated programmable model setup from a touch panel that might continuously send an input.
The repeatable pattern
- The appliance was a Whirlpool WOC54EC0AS01 oven and microwave combination.
- After a breaker reset, one selected mode worked.
- Later bake, broil and other selections showed FEATURE NOT AVAILABLE.
- F1E0 was later reported.
- Replacing the control board did not solve the problem.
The same symptom can have a different cause on another oven. This pattern makes the exact configuration and input state more important than another automatic board order.
Two branches left by the failed board
The first branch was model configuration: the replacement or existing controller may be programmed for a different product variant. The discussion called for checking the selected model against the appliance label in service mode.
If configuration matched, the touch panel remained. A shorted input could make the control interpret multiple or continuous key presses even though the display visibly reacts.
The correct order of diagnosis
- Record the full model exactly from the appliance label.
- Verify model configuration using the exact service procedure.
- Confirm connector seating and whether any touch input remains active.
- Test the user interface before replacing another control.
Electrical and configuration safety: do not enter undocumented service settings or move live connectors. Incorrect model programming can create additional faults.
A replacement that did not solve the fault
A repair that did not follow the obvious path

A Whirlpool ran its drain forever, flashed the lock lamp and showed F03/E01 after a level-sensor connection changed. The signal path came first.
Maytag MVW7230HW0 Quick Wash Stuck at 17 Minutes
A Maytag MVW7230HW0 kept operating while Quick Wash remained at 17 minutes. The case separates a stalled countdown from a simple no-spin fault.
Maytag F1E2 After Drain Worked and Programs Stopped
A Maytag drained correctly, then programs stopped after pause and F1E2 appeared. The case separates standing-water door lock from motor control.
