The Error Changed, but the Dryer Was Not Repaired

The latch, main board and heater all entered the repair history. The board change introduced E91, and a later new-heater replacement did not solve the complaint.

The parts-and-errors timeline

  1. The dryer repeatedly indicated that its door was open.
  2. A door-switch repair attempt included an ignition event, and the complete latch was replaced.
  3. The original complaint remained and service mode showed E63.
  4. Heating-circuit resistance and continuity were reported normal.
  5. Replacing the main board introduced E91.
  6. A new heater was then installed, but the problem still remained.

The same symptom can have a different cause. This sequence does not identify a universal Electrolux part; it shows why every replacement and code change must stay in the evidence chain.

What the failed replacements ruled against

The replacement heater did not support the theory that a simple heater assembly failure explained the complaint. The discussion also noted that this heater used three parallel windings, so a meaningful check had to account for all of them.

E91 after board replacement kept the UI board, harness, connectors, board compatibility and replacement-part condition open. None was confirmed before the repair was stopped.

Why the case ended without a diagnosis

The technician judged further parts replacement economically impractical. That is a valid field outcome, but it is not a confirmed component diagnosis. For a similar case, preserve the exact model, original and replacement part numbers, connector condition and the error sequence before deciding whether more testing is justified.

Fire and high-voltage safety: a switch or connector that ignites is not a reset condition. Disconnect the dryer, do not keep testing damaged wiring and have heat-damaged connectors and controls inspected by qualified service.
